Stay Dry, NYC. Hail a Dinghy!
There's no better way to get around the mean streams of New York city.
I've always had a deep affection for New York and over the years, I've become quite familiar with its subway system. However, in this timeline, the relentless rains have transformed the underground network into an expansive waterway. While I've grown accustomed to the traffic of this city, maneuvering the janky time machine through its streets is a daunting task. The challenge isn't just the traffic – it's finding a place to park, especially when the streets are submerged and mooring posts are still a rarity.
Thankfully, the NYC Transit Commission has adapted with their impressive fleet of rigid dirigibles and commuter dinghies. Barring the occasional surge pricing, their service is unparalleled. Most retailers have seamlessly integrated docks, ensuring patrons transition from taxi to store without so much as a wet toe.
I'm tempted to linger a while and indulge in some retail therapy. The innovative waterproof and flood-centric products here are nothing short of impressive. I must grab a few gifts for my boater buddies back in my primeline.
For those of you in my primeline who could benefit from a real-time flood-watching application, check out NYC FloodNet’s data visualization tool for future reference.
