While grabbing a snack at a fully autonomous bodega in a nearby timeline, I added this curious artifact to my self-checking basket. It’s always nice to have something in the janky time machine’s glovebox to reach for when I’m just waiting around, or sliding through the temporal slipstream.
In my primeline, my house is connected with all sorts of smart things, lights, thermostats, moisture sensors. The bulk of which are monitored and triggered through an online service that is now seen as old, and not really the thing to use anymore. Having to switch it all over to a new platform seems daunting, but also necessary as I’ve officially reach a point where certain lights no longer react to my voice commands. It’s been so long since I’ve touched a switch that I forgot how to manually turn on my kitchen light. Shit. If this is going on in my primeline, just imagine how this is all gonna pan out.
I’m hoping some of these articles in this magazine will spark ideas on how I should plan my household upgrades and firmware updates.
