Move over Marvel. Here comes the Epic Cinematic Metaverse
Writers are algorithms, actors are deepfakes, and movies are birthed from the collective creativity of gamers.
With nothing to watch because of the writer's strike happening in my primeline, I decided to fire up the janky time machine and take a quick spin down the wormhole to my buddy's place a few years into the future. Besides, he'd been pestering me non-stop to check out this peculiar movie – a spectacle with no writers, no actors, yet boasting a whopping 98% on Rotten Tomatoes in his timeline. I mean, how could I resist?
So, what's the secret sauce of this future flick? Well, after countless hours of gameplay and the collective imagination of millions of gamers, narratives began to take shape. These weren't just any old tales, either. They were intricately woven stories brimming with valor, redemption, betrayal, and the timeless theme of defying all odds. Just feed the whole shebang into the nearest algowriter, let it sift out a compelling narrative, and voila! You've got Fortnite: Legends Collide.
Now, this is the part that really blows my Crocs off. This movie is jam-packed with a star-studded cast of, well, deepfaked actors. Classic movie stars of yesteryears, long faded into the backdrop, are now the talk of the town in this timeline, all thanks to some pretty advanced tech.
The future of entertainment seems both weird and wildly exciting. A world where writers are algorithms, actors are deepfakes, and movies are birthed from the collective creativity of gamers. The Epic (games) Cinematic Metaverse is the new MCU.
