Green Pages: A Sneak Peek
Exploring the future of filmmaking and entertainment through Design Fiction
For the last few months of my primeline, I’ve been working with a skunkworks team of design fiction practitioners on a speculative publication exploring implications relevant to Hollywood and the entertainment industry. Every week we jump in our janky time machines and visit nearby futures to collect specimens to bring back and collate into our Green Pages - a magazine from the future.
I asked the project showrunner Thomas to explain the concept to you, my subscribers, and offer a sneak peek at what we’re up to.
THOMAS: Imagine, if you will, Green Pages as a time machine encapsulated in a magazine. It's an intriguing look at the future of the Media and Entertainment industry, filled with thought-provoking articles and ads. But rather than trying to play fortune-teller, we're shining a spotlight on the possibilities that are unfolding right before our eyes, thanks to the constant evolution of technology and social norms. We're giving shape and substance to those possibilities through our magazine, with the hope that it will inspire people to dream up and build their own versions of the future film industry.
You know, Green Pages has got its own unique charm and personality, kind of like a super-reliable industry insider you always turn to. It's not your run-of-the-mill trade magazine, but a trusted guide for everyone involved in the movie business, from those in the limelight to the hardworking souls behind the scenes. There's a certain comfort in knowing Green Pages doesn't play favorites. From set dressers and editors to producers and studio execs - they all find value in our pages. Whether it's keeping up with the latest developments in script encryption software or getting exclusive insights from the trailblazers of AI-enhanced filmmaking, Green Pages is their go-to source. So, who needs The Hollywood Reporter when you have a friend like Green Pages, right?
