Can You Speak Droidanese?
Master bleeps, bloops and whistles with Duolingo's "Speak Like a Droid" lessons.
In a daring effort to save a few bucks on a new battery for my droid, I bravely ventured into the janky time machine and embarked on a journey to a timeline far, far away. The only hitch in my master plan to acquire droid parts directly from droids was the rather inconvenient expectation that I speak fluent Droidanese—specifically, the L3-Series dialect. But I refused to be deterred! With unwavering confidence, I downloaded Duolingo's course and dove headfirst into learning the language.
You see, the majority of droid speech consists of bleeps, bloops, and whistles. It's strikingly similar to a musical score, replete with eighth notes and dotted eighths for us 'meat speakers,' as they so affectionately call us. Droids typically communicate in 64ths, but they graciously slow it down for us to keep up. Moreover, their language features plenty of squiggles and arrows to indicate inflection, much like Chinese or Sargam notation in Indian music.
Fortunately, I'm a seasoned polyglot, so I have the unique ability to roll my tongue at both the tip and the roof of my mouth. This skill comes in handy for producing certain gurgle-whistle sounds with ease.
In any case, I hope you're all enjoying a splendid day, no matter which timeline you find yourself in and May the Fourth be with You.
